“From the fulness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another…” John 1:16
This was the part of my Bible reading this morning that really struck me today. I am so grateful for all God’s grace…for example…
1. Today Eric drives up to get our new van. As far as we know, the details are in order and it just has to be done. I still can’t believe that by the end of the day, we will own a new (to us) Toyota Sienna. I’m really excited.
2. I had my 38 week appointment yesterday. All is well. Definitely making progress. My “cervix of steel” (yes, medical personnel have called it that) has finally started to soften and efface. So we might actually get to have a baby without surgery in the next week or ten days. Very excited about that!
3. My doctor is totally supportive of trying to avoid a c-section. No pressure. Totally willing to wait until 41 weeks to do surgery to give her every chance of coming on her own. It’s just so nice because a lot of doctors would already be pushing to schedule a section, just in case. It’s such a relief for me!
4. I’ve actually gotten a ton of work done around the house for NLS’s arrival. Her room is inching ever closer to being ready, and I did a lot of sorting, organizing and laundry yesterday. Still have some to do, of course, but if she decided to come tomorrow (today is the only day she’s been told she can’t come…as Eric will be in MI!), we’d be good.
And that’s just a sampling (and the big stuff). I’m sure there’s more I could put on my list. But that’s a good start.
Happy Friday!

LOL at the cervix of steel! When is your exact due date?

I’m so glad to know that there are still doctors out there willing to wait. Seems so many want to schedule delivery these days. Hopefully your little one will be cooperative. Wishing you all the best.

@fortheloveofblogging – Thanks! And as I’m not sure I’ve seen you on my site before, please feel free to introduce yourself!
@filledeparis – My official due date is Oct. 9, but a girl I know who was due the 10th just had her son this morning. So maybe mine won’t wait that long either!

No, I haven’t been on your site before. I was just browsing and found your postings to be the type of material I like to read so I subscribed. Hope that was okay!
I’m Angela, a 31 year old female. I’ve been happily married for 10 amazing years. I have an 11 year old daughter and an 11 week old son. I’m a stay at home mommy and love it. I blog about anything and everything and update my site daily.

“Cervix of steel” Heehee! I’m soooo glad you’ve found someone who is willing to give your body every chance to VBAC. I’m praying it goes just so smoothly!
And that you’re still putting the final touches on NLS’ room makes me feel so much better about how you can barely get into and out of Peep’s room right now, thanks to all our bedroom/closet stuff. If you can wait until 38 weeks before you’re done, so can I.

So happy for you and the van! I can understand why that would be such a relief! Praying you get to go without a c-section this time around!

Happy post! Happy for you! It’s going to be baby central in Ohio, it seems! Two Campbells and two Edlunds?!?

So how’s the van?? My doctor won’t induce (without medical reason) for a week to ten days after the due date. I was afraid he would push for it to avoid Christmas, but he says he doesn’t do this for the convenience. 😉 I just want to make sure I get my little tax deduction by the 31st! hehehe

@jedlund – Nobody’s sleeping this coming winter. 😉
