Day 11: Reality

Today was a crazy day. The girls were up at 5:45 this morning and stayed up, making sure I was up by coming back into my room every 20 minutes or so until I finally got up. By 8:20, all four of my kids had thrown an actual fit (or at least responded with a “No-o-o!”) when I refused them about something.

I denied screen time for most of the day today, so we were forced to be with each other all day. Eric had to run to town, change the oil in the van (Thanks, Babe!), and work outside for most of the day. I had to work on an editing job. And do laundry. And clean the kitchen. And not ignore my kids.

Oh, and during rest/nap time, Alex started coming down with more fever and sickness. MORE fever and sickness (it’s been here for over two weeks now). Erin started last night, but was doing better until rest time, too, after which her fever came back. Neither daughter napped, despite the early morning wake-up call. Timmy got up early because Alex kept hollering for me during rest. But I did thankfully get some progress made on my editing job.

Then the evening was spent with sick kiddos watching movies on the couch, making dinner, cleaning up, and trying to manage baths and bedtime (we only had a 50% bath success rate tonight).

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is reality. At least on some days. So glad it’s almost bedtime!
