Today is the last day of classes.  I will collect portfolios in my
comp classes and have a review session for the Basic final exam (which
is Wednesday). The students, of course, have finals for the rest of the
week, but my primary focus will be grading portfolios!  I cannot
express how happy I am to have survived this semester.

The weekend was very good.  Eric and I spent a lot of quality time
together because he’s going to be gone all this week to CA for a
business trip.  We watched tv and a movie on Friday night.
We worked around the house on Saturday.  I did laundry so Eric
would have clothes to wear!  We refilled the back patio with sand
so the bricks stay put, and Eric did a number of other little jobs
around the house.  Then we went for a short hike and then went out
to dinner (Wendy’s) and did some shopping on Saturday night.
Sunday we had church, of course.  Then Eric went in to work for a
bit because one of the Mythbusters (a Discovery Channel show) was
touring Battelle and he wanted to meet him.  Then we hung out
while I finished laundry and ironed his clothes.  Then we packed
his stuff and got ready for small group which was a good time…we’re
all getting really tired, so we were pretty slap-happy all night long
(even during prayer!).  Then ran to the bank so Eric had cash with
him, final preparations, then bed.

This morning we left the house at 7:00 and I drove Eric to the airport
before heading all the way back out of the city to make it to CU. But I
still made it about my normal time.  Eric’s flight leaves shortly
after 9:00, I think.  He’ll have a conference on Tuesday-Thursday,
and then he and a guy from work are going to spend a day hiking in
Joshua Tree National Park. Then they’ll fly home on Saturday.
I’ll pick him up at 4:00 on Saturday.  Needless to say, it’s going
to be a pretty long week for me…well, maybe I’ll get most of my
grading done early!

Good attitude, thinking about getting your grading done!

Which Mythbuster did he get to meet?  We like that show a lot (we’re kinda dorky with the TV shows we watch!)!

I remember last time he was gone — I think it still took you awhile to get your grading done. Maybe this time will be different.
It’s good to see that other people go “out to dinner” to places like Wendy’s. If we go to a sit-down restaurant, that’s pretty fancy for us!!

Yeah, I saw that “going out” to Wendy’s thing and laughed. That doesn’t even count!!

We’re way past trying to impress each other, but Wendy’s still doesn’t count as eating out. It counts as grabbing something to eat.

It doesn’t count as “grabbing something to eat” if you dine in.  That’s completely eating out then!

Kyle will be jealous when I tell him Eric met Jamie!  There’s this show David Spade does that makes fun of people, and he did a segment called “While You Were Being Cool.”  He went through all the “nerdy” TV shows and gave updates on them – Mythbusters being one of them.  We were kind of sad, because we actually watch every show he mentioned… good thing we like not being cool!

Who are you? We all thought you had dropped off the face of the earth last week!! I’m glad you didn’t and also glad that you had a great weekend with your hubby!

Sometimes we watch those”nerdy” shows, too. It must run in the family to be “nerdy”!!
