Shannah fell in love with words as a small child. She could read at 3 and has been writing for almost as long. Words gave a small girl power. Knowledge promised respect and admiration. And so she wrote and shared and thought and learned.
Shannah fell in love with Jesus at age 7. The Bible stories revealed a God who loved her when others didn’t, who saved her from the imperfection she hated about herself. And she worked very hard to make sure he was pleased with her.
After (barely) surviving junior high and (mostly) sailing through high school, Shannah thrived in college where she read and wrote and discovered, through the debate team, her natural gift for arguments.
Shannah fell in love with Eric after grad school, and then with each of the four crazies who call her mom. She started blogging, and they moved to the middle-of-nowhere Ohio to live a more purposeful life.
But life on purpose is hard. And parenting is hard. And perfectionism kept Shannah tied in knots until, one day, she demanded of the God she thought she loved, “But how? How do I do all this stuff I know? I get the words. I know so much. But how do I live your way, Jesus?”
And he answered. Which is why Shannah is now a teacher again. This time, of God’s Word.
She hopes to share with you all that she knows about the Bible, sure. Because it was poured into her so it could overflow to others. But even more, she want to help you connec God’s beautiful, loving, powerful words to the real life you live.
That’s who Shannah is: writer, teacher, thinker. Lover of Jesus, Eric, and her family. Small-town, small-sized spitfire of a woman who was created to help you get anchored in God’s word and equipped to live life his way.
